Lexus IS 250 Amp to IS 500: Which Plug and Play Kit Fits
Shopping for a Lexus IS 250 amp, or an upgrade for a newer IS 300, 350 or 500 without Mark Levinson? The right Beat-Sonic kit depends on two things only: the model year and whether the car has Mark Levinson. Get those right and you will not buy an amplifier that does not plug in.
Quick answer: every 2021 to 2025 IS without Mark Levinson takes the Encore Sigma ENS-L201, available now, with or without factory navigation. A 2014 to 2020 IS without Mark Levinson needs the Encore Sigma ENS-L202, which is still in development and not for sale yet. No Beat-Sonic kit fits a Lexus IS with Mark Levinson.
Why the IS Without Mark Levinson Feels Short on Sound
The base IS system is not bad, it is just underpowered for the car. You notice it on the freeway, when the volume goes up and the music thins out instead of filling the cabin. The usual answer from a stereo shop is a big custom job, and on a modern Lexus that gets expensive fast because the audio is so tightly integrated with the screen and controls.
A plug and play amplifier skips all of that. It connects to factory connectors, keeps your head unit, speakers and steering wheel controls, and gives the factory speakers clean power they never had. Which Lexus IS 250 Amp or IS 350 Kit Fits Your Car
On the IS, Mark Levinson was only ever sold as part of the navigation equipped system. So a car without factory navigation does not have Mark Levinson either. That makes the decision a simple table.

The Two Kits, Explained
Encore Sigma ENS-L201: the 2021 to 2025 IS
The ENS-L201 covers every 2021 through 2025 IS, with or without navigation, as long as there is no Mark Levinson. It is an eight channel Class AB amplifier, so it powers every factory speaker and can be tuned rather than just made louder. It has RCA outputs and a remote lead for a subwoofer, it connects at the factory amplifier in the trunk, and it is fully reversible. It is available now. The 2026 IS is not compatible with the ENS-L201 at this time.
Encore Sigma ENS-L202 (coming soon): the 2014 to 2020 IS
The ENS-L202 is the same eight channel Encore Sigma for the 2014 through 2020 IS without Mark Levinson. It is not available yet and has no release date, which is why the 2014 to 2020 cars are still waiting.

What the Encore Sigma Install Looks Like in an IS 200t
The video shows our team fitting a development Encore Sigma to an IS 200t. Treat it as a preview of how the kit installs, not a buying guide, since the ENS-L202 for that generation is not available yet.
Step 1: Open the trunk floor
Lift out the foam piece. Flip open the small cover under the hook with a fingernail or thin flat screwdriver to expose a 10 mm bolt, remove it, then remove the panel. The carpet lifts out on clips, and the factory amplifier sits right there in the trunk.
Step 2: Unplug the factory amplifier
The factory connector has a small locking clip and a lever. Press the clip, lift the lever, and the plug releases.
Step 3: Daisy chain the harness
The Sigma harness sits between the factory harness and the factory amplifier. One end takes the factory plug, the other goes back into the factory amp, and you push the locking clip fully home. Three connectors from the harness then plug into the Sigma itself. The harness also carries a separate remote output for a subwoofer.
Step 4: Set the gains and mount it
On the amplifier you will find the RCA outputs, an AutoSense feature and the gain controls. Play music you know and adjust to taste. We mounted the amp on top of the factory carpet, held with Velcro strips and a strap so it cannot slide. On this IS the whole job took about an hour.

Adding a Subwoofer Later
The Encore Sigma makes a sub easy. Run RCA from the sub output to a powered subwoofer, connect the remote lead so the sub turns on with the stereo, and run a power wire from the battery at the front of the car. Nothing else changes. Other ways to upgrade the dash are in our stereo interface kits, and anything newly released lands in new products.
