Encore Sigma Plug and Play Amplifier for Lexus NX (2022–2026)

If your 2022-2026 Lexus NX 250 350 350h 450h+ rolled out of the dealership sounding flat, thin, or just plain underwhelming, you're not alone. The base audio system on the NX is a known weak point, and even owners who didn't opt for the Mark Levinson upgrade are left wondering if this is as good as it gets. It isn't.

We just completed our very first Encore Sigma Plug-&-Play Amplifier installation in the US on a brand new 2026 Lexus NX 450h+, and the before-and-after results are dramatic. No wire cutting, no new head unit, and no complicated install. Just a clean upgrade that dramatically improves your sound system.

Why the 2026 Lexus NX 450h+ Needs an Amplifier Upgrade

Lexus positions the NX as a premium luxury crossover, and for the most part, it delivers a refined ride, sharp styling, and cutting-edge tech. But the factory audio system on non-Mark Levinson trims is a different story. The stock amplifier simply doesn't push enough power to the speakers to fill the cabin with the kind of sound that matches the rest of the vehicle's premium feel. The output ceiling is low, dynamics are compressed, and bass response is weak. Owners who didn't select the top-tier Mark Levinson audio package are stuck with a factory amp that was never designed to impress, it was designed to meet a price point.

The fix doesn't require trading in your vehicle or tearing apart your dashboard. Our Encore Sigma Plug-&-Play Amplifier is engineered specifically to replace the factory amplifier signal path, delivering cleaner, louder, more dynamic audio while maintaining full compatibility with your factory head unit, steering wheel controls, and all OEM features. This is the most effective single upgrade you can make to your NX audio system.

What Is the Beat-Sonic Encore Sigma Amplifier?

The Encore Sigma is a purpose-built plug-and-play amplifier from our amplifier collection designed to integrate directly with your factory audio system without any modification to OEM wiring or components. Installation is simple. The harness connects inline with your factory system, so no cuts or permanent changes are required.

Here's what makes the Encore Sigma stand apart from a generic aftermarket amplifier install:

  • 100% plug-and-play design: Uses factory connector points, no wire cutting required
  • Gain settings maxed out: For the NX 450h+ speaker configuration, the speakers handled full gain without distortion
  • Built-in subwoofer outputs: Via RCA connectors, ready for an easy bass upgrade down the road
  • Remote wire output: Supports future subwoofer additions with minimal effort
  • Compatible with A-02 harness: Can power an active subwoofer after the amplifier is installed
  • Compact form factor: Mounts cleanly behind the passenger seat without taking up usable cargo space

This isn't a generic amp bolted under the seat with a pile of RCA cables. It's a system-specific solution engineered for your exact vehicle.

Encore Sigma Install Guide: 2026 Lexus NX 450h+ Step-by-Step

This install involves removing the center console to access the factory amplifier location, routing the Encore Sigma harness cables, mounting the amplifier behind the passenger seat, and reassembling everything. The total job can be completed without any drilling or permanent modification. Here's exactly how we did it.

Step 1: Remove the Center Console

The factory amplifier on the 2026 Lexus NX 450h+ sits directly under the center console, so the entire console assembly must be removed to access the factory amp connector. Start by dropping the glove box; there's a small hydraulic arm holding it in place. Release that arm, then push the glove box all the way down and pull it free. This exposes the piano black trim panel behind it. Take note of the angle of the clips on this panel before pulling, as pulling at the wrong angle will break them. Remove the panel at the correct angle.

Next, remove the shift knob by turning it counterclockwise. Open the armrest and use a panel removal tool to lift up the armrest trim piece. Disconnect the electrical connector behind it and always press the release tab before pulling. Continue by removing the center console side panels, disconnecting all connectors as you go. Use a 12mm socket to remove the console bolts, then disconnect the large main harness connector underneath.

The center console also has attachment points at the rear. Move to the back seat, use your panel removal tool to pull the rear trim panel, and disconnect those two connectors as well. Back at the front, remove the 10mm bolts from the console. There are additional 10mm bolts accessible through the glove box opening, under a small carpet liner. Three more bolts are located there. Once all fasteners are removed, the entire center console assembly will lift free. Take your time here, as there are additional connectors on both the driver and passenger sides that need to be disconnected before the console clears the vehicle.

Step 2: Locate the Factory Amplifier Connector and Connect the Encore Sigma Harness

With the center console removed, the factory amplifier connector is now accessible at the rear of the console cavity. Press the release lever on the left side of the connector to disengage the clip and pull it free. This connector becomes the integration point for the Encore Sigma harness. The factory connector plugs into the female side of our harness, and the male side of the harness connects directly to the Encore Sigma amplifier. The connection is straightforward and indexed; it only goes in one way.

Step 3: Route the Amplifier Cables Under the Passenger Seat

The Encore Sigma mounts in the void space behind the passenger seat. There's a clean mounting location accessible once the seat is tilted back. To route the cables, remove the four T50 Torx bolts holding the passenger seat to the floor, then tilt the seat back to reveal the cable routing channel along the side of the seat base. Thread the Encore Sigma cable through this channel, following the factory cable path for a clean, professional result. Feed the cable all the way through to the rear void space behind the seat.

Step 4: Configure Gain Settings and Mount the Amplifier

Before final mounting, set the gain on the Encore Sigma. On the 2026 Lexus NX 450h+, we ran the gain at maximum, and the factory speakers handled full gain without any distortion or thermal stress. The amplifier also features subwoofer-level RCA outputs on the unit itself. If you plan to add a powered subwoofer in the future, those RCA outputs are already wired and waiting. Combine that with the A-02 harness accessory and a power subwoofer can be added later with minimal effort.

Once the gain is set, insulate the 12V output wire with electrical tape; it's a live wire and must be covered before mounting. Zip-tie the amp and its wiring to the bracket point behind the seat, run the wires cleanly across the mounting surface, and secure everything down.

Step 5: Reassemble and Verify

Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly. Bolt the passenger seat back down, reinstall the center console starting from the rear, reconnect all connectors, reinstall the trim panels, reinstall the shift knob, and drop the glove box back into position. When reinstalling the 10mm console bolts, torque them appropriately; they were tight from the factory for a reason. Once everything is back in place, power on the system and run through the full audio range to confirm the install is clean.

Before and After: Sound Level Results

We conducted a sound-level test using an external decibel meter, both before and after the Encore Sigma installation. The factory system measured 67.0 dB at reference volume. With the Encore Sigma installed and gain maximized, the same test registered 79.0 dB. That's a real-world gain of 12 dB, which, on a logarithmic scale, represents a volume output that is perceived as roughly four times louder. The difference is immediately noticeable the moment you turn the ignition and hit play. The audio fills the cabin. Bass response is present and controlled. Highs are crisp. The sound stage that should have been there from the factory is now actually there.

Note: Sound test results were recorded with an external microphone and may not fully represent listening results in all conditions. Use headphones when watching the sound demo portion of our video for the best comparison experience.

Who is Encore Sigma Built For?

If you own a 2026 Lexus NX 250, 350, 350h, or 450h+, or any recent NX model with a base or mid-level audio system, the Encore Sigma plug and play amplifier is a simple way to get a meaningful sound upgrade. You can improve volume, clarity, and overall performance without replacing your factory head unit or modifying your wiring.

It is also a great option if you plan to add a subwoofer later. The built-in RCA outputs and remote wire make future upgrades easy, with no additional wiring needed at the amplifier.

This upgrade is especially ideal for NX owners who chose a lower trim with plans to improve the audio later. The Encore Sigma delivers premium sound at a fraction of the cost of the factory Mark Levinson system, and it can be installed in an afternoon with no permanent changes to your vehicle.
