A Tesla smartphone mirroring kit puts your phone on the big factory touchscreen: YouTube, Netflix, Apple Maps, Google Maps, photos, any app. Tesla's own software limits what you can watch and when, and there is no HDMI input from the factory. Beat-Sonic USA's TESLM kits add one. They install plug-and-play behind the factory screen, deliver a high-definition picture, and leave every factory function working, including the backup camera and phone calls. Fully reversible, no modifications to the factory harness.

Mirror Video to Your Tesla Screen

The Tesla display is one of the best screens in any car, and mirroring finally lets you use all of it. Stream video at a Supercharger while you wait for a charge. Keep passengers entertained on road trips. Run any app your phone runs, full screen, in HD. On the TESLM2, a split screen mode keeps driving controls visible while content plays, and video audio routes through the Tesla's Bluetooth sound system so playback uses the factory speakers.

Two kits, Every Pre-HW4 Tesla

  • TESLM1 (from $449): 2012-2021 Tesla Model S and Model X; hD smartphone mirroring on the factory screen
  • TESLM2 (from $449): 2017-2023 Tesla Model 3 and Model Y (HW3 only); hD picture, full and split screen modes, control button

How the Tesla Mirroring Kits Work

Each kit is an HDMI video input interface built specifically for the Tesla platform. The TESLM2 pairs the interface with a CAN Bus decoder box and LVDS cables that tie into the factory display connection, so the mirrored image appears on the OEM screen at HDMI-quality resolution. A small, discreet control button switches the interface on and off, and the mirrored image appears only after you press it. Because the kit accepts standard HDMI, it can also display any HDMI media device with an appropriate adapter, not just phones.

iPhone

iPhones connect by wire through an Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter, plus a charging cable and HDMI cable, purchased separately.

Android

Android phones connect wirelessly through a 4K wireless HDMI display dongle, purchased separately. Google Pixel phones additionally require a Chromecast and a mobile hotspot.

HW3 or HW4? Check Before You Buy

The TESLM2 is compatible with HW3 vehicles only, not HW4. To confirm your hardware version, open Controls, then Software, then Additional Vehicle Information on your Tesla's touchscreen. HW4 entered production around May-June 2023 for the Model Y and arrived with the 2024 Model 3 Highland refresh, so late-2023 and newer builds need a hardware check before ordering. Unsure? Email info@beatsonicusa.com before purchasing.

Beat-Sonic Plug-and-play Installation

No special tools, no cutting, no modifications to the factory harness. The interface, decoder, and cabling tuck behind the factory screen, and the whole install is fully reversible: remove the kit and the car returns to stock with no trace left behind. Instructions ship with every kit, and vehicle-specific guides are posted at our manuals page, with install videos on the Beat-Sonic USA YouTube channel.

Pair with More Beat-Sonic USA Upgrades
