How Miracast Works in a Toyota
Toyota head units do not have Miracast built in, so the kit supplies the missing link. For Android phones, you add a wireless HDMI display dongle with Miracast (purchased separately): the phone casts to the dongle wirelessly, and the dongle feeds the Beat-Sonic interface, which puts the picture on your factory screen. Google Pixel phones additionally need a Chromecast and a mobile hotspot.
iPhones skip Miracast entirely and connect by wire through an Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter or USB-C Digital AV Adapter, plus charging and extension cables, all purchased separately. Wired mirroring is stable and unaffected by wireless interference.
