2024+ Toyota Tacoma Upgrade Guide: Audio, Cameras and Throttle Response
Most 2024+ Toyota Tacoma upgrades you read about are lift kits and tires, but the changes you feel on every single drive happen inside the cab. Sound that actually has punch, a camera that shows what the hood hides, and a pedal that responds when you press it. This guide covers the electronics side, and every kit here plugs into factory connectors.
We are Beat-Sonic USA, the American branch of Beat-Sonic Japan, serving the car community since 2007. Our products are designed and engineered in Japan and US, built vehicle specific, and nearly every one of them has an install video on our YouTube channel. The best Tacoma accessories are the ones you stop noticing because they just work, and that is the standard we build to.
Fix the sound first: Tacoma speaker and amplifier upgrades
The factory Tacoma stereo is the most common complaint we hear, and the premium JBL package does not escape it. The stock system runs low power through conservative tuning, so music sounds thin at highway speed and muddy at volume. The other complaint we hear just as often: there is simply not enough volume, even with the dial maxed out. Owners often start with a Tacoma speaker upgrade, then discover the real bottleneck was never the speakers. It was the power and processing behind them. We wrote up the full diagnosis in why Toyota JBL audio sounds bad and how to fix it.
Our Encore amplifier kits solve this at the source, and they keep your factory head unit, screen, and controls:
- ENX-T330 DSP amplifier kit for the 2024+ Tacoma without JBL. The Encore X platform adds DSP tuned through our desktop software, which runs on a Windows PC over the included USB cable (there is no Mac version and no phone app). Every kit ships with an in-house tune built by our tuning expert specifically for this truck, so it sounds dialed in the moment you plug it in, and most owners never need to open the software.
- ENA-3T3 plug and play amplifier kit for the 2018-2026 Toyota and Lexus family, compatible with both JBL and non JBL systems, with a dedicated subwoofer output. On JBL trucks, see the subwoofer section below for how sub volume control behaves.
- ENA-2T3 plug and play amplifier kit, the same integration without the subwoofer output, also compatible with both JBL and non JBL systems.
The harness is the same for JBL and non JBL trucks, but harnesses can differ by model year and trim, so confirm your exact truck on each product page before ordering. For a step by step look at the JBL install, read our Tacoma JBL amplifier install walkthrough, and browse the full amplifiers collection for every option. One requirement worth stating plainly: these kits amplify the factory system, so the factory head unit and factory amp must be present and working. They do not replace a broken factory unit.
Add a Toyota Tacoma subwoofer without replacing the head unit
Bass is what the Tacoma cabin is missing most, and you do not need a new stereo to get it. The ENA-3T3 includes a subwoofer output, which means you can feed a powered sub a clean signal straight from the kit. Our guide on adding a subwoofer to a 2024 Tacoma shows the whole process on a non JBL truck.
One JBL specific detail worth knowing before you buy: the ENA-3T3 works on JBL trucks, but the added subwoofer's volume will not sync with the radio volume knob. You adjust the sub level independently. If you want the knob to control everything, pair the ENA-2T3 with our ACS-T02 powered subwoofer controller, which restores volume knob control over the aftermarket sub so it behaves like it came from the factory. If adjusting the sub on its own does not bother you, the ENA-3T3 alone saves you some money. And if you already own an ENA-3T3, adding the ACS-T02 to it restores knob control the same way.
One detail that trips people up: our EAZ-C02 power seat cable harness works on trucks with power seats only, and a heated seat is not the same as a power seat. It taps constant power under the seat to feed an active subwoofer rated under 260W RMS, no splicing needed. While you are in there, treating the doors with material from our sound deadening collection tightens up the midbass and cuts road noise, which makes every other audio dollar work harder. For the 2024+ Tacoma specifically, our DMS-SP302 door speaker acoustic foam kit matches the truck's 9x8 inch front door speakers and seals them to the door card.
Add a Tacoma front camera to the factory screen
The Tacoma hood is tall and flat, and it hides everything within several feet of the bumper. A Tacoma front camera fixes the guesswork at parking blocks, curbs, and trail obstacles. On 2024+ trucks, the setup pairs our BCAM13 wide angle camera with a CS15 interface module that feeds the image straight into the factory screen, viewable on demand rather than only when the truck decides to show it.
This is a single wide angle front view, honest and simple, not a stitched 360 overhead. For most drivers it covers the exact blind zone that causes scraped bumpers. See the full walkthrough in our post on adding a front camera to a 2024 Toyota Tacoma, and find the parts in our camera solutions collection.
Driving an older truck? Owners searching for Toyota Tacoma wireless CarPlay on 2014-2019 models can add it with our TAV-CB2W wireless CarPlay kit, which keeps the factory screen and controls just like our camera interfaces do.
Wake up the pedal: ShiftPower throttle response
Tacoma owners know the pause. You press the accelerator and the truck thinks about it before responding. That lag is factory throttle mapping, and a throttle response controller removes it. The ShiftPower SP09 covers current Toyota applications, and the ShiftPower SP07 covers 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra and more. Check your model year on each product page to pick the right one.
Both plug in at the accelerator pedal connector in minutes and offer multiple drive modes, from mellow to sharp. We documented the whole job in our SP09 install on a 2025 Tacoma, and the full range lives in the ShiftPower collection.
Toyota Tacoma upgrades: quick reference
Here is the shortlist we hand to Tacoma owners when they book an install with us. Start with the row that annoys you most on your daily commute. For most owners that is sound, which is why the amplifier kits sit at the top, but there is no wrong order. Each upgrade stands alone and none of them interfere with the others.

Frequently asked questions
I have the JBL system. Which amplifier kit do I need?
Both JBL and non JBL trucks in the 2018-2026 Toyota family can use the ENA-3T3 if you want a subwoofer output, or the ENA-2T3 if you do not. The ENX-T330 is specifically for the 2024+ Tacoma without JBL. JBL owners adding a powered subwoofer should pair the ENA-2T3 with the ACS-T02 controller. If you keep the factory subwoofer instead, the ENA-2T3 alone already powers it through the factory harness, so nothing extra is needed. Confirm your model year and trim on the product page, or contact us and we will match it for you.
Do I lose my factory screen or steering wheel controls?
No. Every kit in this guide integrates behind the factory head unit with OEM style connectors. Your screen, steering wheel buttons, and factory features keep working exactly as before. Unplug the kit and the truck returns to stock.
Can I add a subwoofer without replacing the head unit?
Yes. The ENA-3T3 provides a dedicated subwoofer output from a plug and play kit, so a powered sub gets a proper signal with the factory stereo untouched. One JBL note: with the ENA-3T3, the sub's volume will not sync with the radio volume knob. Pair the ENA-2T3 with the ACS-T02 controller if you want the knob to control the sub, or add the ACS-T02 to an ENA-3T3 you already own to restore knob control. Trucks with power seats should add the EAZ-C02 harness for clean under seat wiring.
How long do these installs take?
The ShiftPower plugs in at the pedal in about 15 minutes. Amplifier, subwoofer, and camera installs typically take a few hours for a DIYer with basic hand tools, and most have a full install video on our YouTube channel. Our La Mirada shop installs by appointment, Monday through Friday, and most installs are finished the same day they are booked.
Does ShiftPower improve fuel economy or add power?
It does not add engine power, and we will not pretend otherwise. ShiftPower changes the pedal signal mapping so the engine responds sooner to your input. In eco mode it softens that mapping, which does help improve fuel economy for many drivers. The sharper modes give you a truck that feels immediate instead of hesitant, which is what the factory mapping takes away.
