Why replace the screen instead of adding CarPlay to the factory one?
The factory Lexus IS and RC head unit was not designed to run CarPlay. Interface-only solutions that overlay CarPlay onto the factory screen are limited by the processing power and display capability of that original unit - which was built in 2014. The LSC-IR2 replaces it entirely with a modern screen that is purpose-built for CarPlay, Android Auto, and smartphone mirroring. The result is a faster, sharper, more responsive experience than any factory-screen-preserving solution can deliver.
Your steering wheel controls, factory microphone, backup camera, and all factory radio functions are fully retained. Factory navigation is replaced by Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, or any navigation app of your choice through CarPlay or Android Auto.

Does this work wirelessly?
Yes. Wireless and wired CarPlay and Android Auto are both supported.
Will I lose my factory navigation?
Factory navigation is replaced by the new screen, but you can still use the factory navigation system on the native Lexus infotainment side. Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, and any other navigation app available through CarPlay or Android Auto will take its place.
Will I lose my factory USB ports?
No. Factory USB ports continue to function normally.
Will my phone charge while using CarPlay?
Yes. Your phone charges through the USB dongle while in CarPlay or Android Auto mode.
What is the audio quality like?
Audio routes through your factory Bluetooth so sound quality is identical to factory.
Can I add a front camera?
Yes. The new screen includes an RCA video input. Select the front camera icon on the interface to display your front camera or any RCA video source.
Can I mirror my smartphone?
Yes. The interface fully supports smartphone mirroring and it works while the vehicle is in motion for passengers.
Can I listen to satellite radio while in CarPlay mode?
You can use your factory SAT radio, but Siri and turn-by-turn voice will not play through it. Use a SiriusXM app through CarPlay instead.
Does this work with all trim levels?
Yes. Regardless of your options package, the LSC-IR2 is compatible.
