Why your factory stereo sounds underwhelming - and how the ENA-3H3 fixes it

Honda factory head units are built to a cost. The amplifier stage inside your OEM radio is one of the first areas where manufacturers cut corners, resulting in a flat, compressed sound even through otherwise decent factory speakers. The ENA-3H3 solves this by strengthening and optimizing the audio signal before it reaches your factory amplifier - giving it a cleaner, more powerful signal to work with, and allowing your factory system to perform closer to its true potential across all frequency ranges.

Frequently asked questions

Will I need to replace my factory speakers or head unit?
No. The ENA-3H3 works with your existing factory head unit and speakers. You keep everything in place - the amp simply adds power and clarity to what you already have.

Is this compatible with aftermarket head units?
The ENA-3H3 works with aftermarket head units as long as the factory head unit retains the factory connectors that our ENA-3H3 plug and play harness connects to.

Is this compatible with Bose factory systems?
No. The ENA-3H3 is only compatible with non-Bose models. If your Honda is equipped with a factory Bose audio system, this kit will not work. Compatibility also depends on your specific display size and speaker count - check the compatibility list carefully before purchasing.

I'm experiencing feedback or noise from my speakers while driving - what should I do?
If you notice feedback on your speakers, particularly at higher speeds, this is likely caused by your vehicle's Active Noise Control (ANC) system. Disconnecting the ANC may resolve the issue. Check your vehicle's owners manual to see how to disconnect the ANC.

Can I add a powered subwoofer with this amp?
Yes. The ENA-3H3 includes a dedicated RCA subwoofer output specifically for easy subwoofer expansion. Simply run an RCA cable from the sub output to your powered subwoofer.

Can I use aftermarket speakers with this amp?
Yes. If using new aftermarket speakers, keep the impedance at 4Ω-8Ω.

Will my steering wheel controls still work?

What is the RMS output vs. peak output?
The 50W x 4ch rating is peak output. RMS is the continuous power output your amp delivers - peak is during short bursts. This is standard across the amplifier industry.

Paired with good aftermarket speakers, exceptional.

Installed in my 2018 Accord Hybrid Base, which has a very basic sound system. No CarPlay or AA, so I plug in with a USB cable for music. One nice thing about the Accord is that it is pretty quiet inside, so I can hear more of the music without having to resort to high volume levels. But the quality of the sound lacks in all the places factory systems lack - detail, clarity, separation, bass.

I had already installed a Beat-Sonic amp in my other car, and paired it what a great set of aftermarket components and the combination is fantastic, so I knew that I would do something similar for the Accord. But I also knew the amp was only going to get me halfway there, that I would need good speakers to really enjoy what the amp could do. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, nor have a complicated install, so I elected to replace only the front door speakers, keeping the rear deck speakers stock. I also wanted an install that looks stock, so I went with a co-axial speaker.

Taking the dash apart was pretty straightforward, as was installing the harnesses and amp. I ran the harness wiring down from the back of the head to the center tunnel and stuck the amp on the inside passenger side of the center tunnel, under the transmission push button controls, using a piece of double sided tape. Everything needed to install the amp was included. One of the virtues of the amp is its small size, which makes for much easier placement without having to do a lot of wire routing.

I paired the amp with the Morel Tempo Ultra Integra 602 MkII, a 90db efficient speaker which costs about the same as the Beat-Sonic amp. The pair work very well together, the amp has enough to really drive the speaker, and the speaker has enough to let the amp sing. The sound is very smooth, clean - nothing jumps out conspicuously, everything is unified, yet instrument separation is excellent, vocals clean and clear. This pairing was enough as the rear stock speakers, although now fed by the Beat-Sonic, just don't get anywhere near the volume, dynamics and depth of the Morels, so they do not interfere with the sound.

I think this was an excellent, cost effective way to dramatically change the quality of sound. A great high quality amp and a great high quality pair of speakers. Instead of bombarding the car (and my wallet) with massive changes such as more speakers and possibly a sub, I think this is a 90% solution for not a lot of $, and it is the easiest amp install possible.

One last note, that I think is important. The amp is simple, high quality and Made in Japan. It is a box that just does its job exceptionally well. Aside from the input level settings (which I didn't change), there is nothing to do or set with it. Elegant simplicity is another of its virtues, something that is easily taken for granted. That it can make fantastic sound so simple means most of us mere mortals in the world of aftermarket car stereo can enjoy systems that drastically outperform anything you can option out from the factory on most any car.

Easy Plug and Play

Just bought a 2026 Crv Sport Hybrid and found the speakers lacking. I put aftermarket speakers in all my cars,including this one.

This amp couldn't be easier to install - for a seasoned audiophile like myself it took only about a half hour from start to finish. It's clean and impressive signal. Highly recommended
