I installed the CarPlay in my 2016 Lexus GS 350. I am not very tech savvy but I was able to install the system by myself.
Total elapsed time was about two and a half hours. Had to call the customer service to figure out how to upgrade firmware.
Pretty simple once explained to me. Very friendly and helpful customer service. Highly recommend the product.
Planning to get one for my spouses‘s 2016 NXT200. Live in Houston area. More than glad to help some one with their install here. (Posted on 3/26/2020)

Purchased and installed in my 2015 Lexus IS350.
As a nonprofessional, but having much past experience of car audio installation, I must say this is a great and innovative product.
Took the expected time to install and adjust. No issues at all. Only wish they also made an Apply CarPlay product to use in my older 08 IS350 as well (pleaseeee lol).

Installed this kit in my 2016 ES350 with no major issues in about 2 hours.
There was a little concern with newest wiring configuration vs video/instructions, but it was still pretty logical.
Everything works perfectly with both kit and factory infotainment. If you do it yourself, make sure you test system after tucking everything and before closing it up.
I made the mistake and must have flipped one of the dip switches while tucking things (display became too big for screen).
Had to take it apart again, but Eric was very responsive on a Sunday afternoon confirming my assumption. Very Happy with it! (Posted on 2/6/2020)

Finished installation on my RX today and did a quick test run. I gave 5 stars so no need to repeat the pros that people have been talking about. A few flaws:
1. Does not support 1280×480 12.3" native resolution yet, I personally prefer non-stretched screen to keep the ratio correct, hopefully we can get this firmware update soon :)
2. Image quality is a little weird, feels more like doing remote desktop where there are some small patches with colors being off or edges being blurry, not sure what problem it is. Tried different resolutions and all had the same issue.
3. Brightness and contrast also seems slightly off, Apple map is too bright and white in day mode and cannot see the roads clearly. Brightness cannot be adjusted, and adjusting in Lexus OS doesn't change Carplay mode.
4. DON'T USE NON-RECOMMENDED RESOLUTION. I was playing with it and picked 1280×600 60p, and lost my mouse cursor so I couldn't change back. Restarted several times to fix it, almost gad to bug Eric...
5. Arrow keys sometime loses function, amd seems engineers have been proactively working on it (Posted on 2/5/2020)

I'm female and I have no experience installing anything audio related in cars, yet I was able to install this device into my car. I took my time and followed Beat Sonics youtube videos/instructions that came with the device. I'm very pleased with this product and I highly recommend it! OK, admittedly this has been a bit of a journey. My initial kit did not function. After a couple of trips to the installer, and excellent phone support by Eric and Sam, we alternately returned one of the boxes in the kit to BeatSonic for review. They replaced the box, and upon installation, today, I now have CarPlay in my 2016 Lexus IS 300.

The installation now works flawlessly. I have access to all elements of Apple CarPlay. In the process, I do not give up any of my existing infotainment system.

A special thanks to Eric. He stayed close to this situation, and was interested in the ensuring that they had a satisfied customer. They are above and beyond support on the phone was much appreciated. Well in the end it took a little bit of time, it was well worth the wait. The product works extraordinarily well.

Eric made a follow up call to me today while I was in my car and I took it on my new CarPlay installation and it worked very well. In my opinion, this is the best user interface on the market for a car infotainment system and navigation. (Posted on 1/27/2020)

Two weekends back I struggled with an installation of the CarPlay kit for a 2016 Lexus IS 300. Friday, the first day of the installation my installer was unable to get the kit to start and advised that he called BeatSonic, but had not heard back from them. Subsequently, following a phone call from BeatSonic to me, the following Saturday that I learned that BeatSonic had indeed called the installer and attempted to diagnose the problem. I have had several good conversations with Eric and one with Sam and have a path to hopefully solve the problem. Both Eric and Sam express genuine confidence in the product and believe we have a path defined to get the kit working. They proactively reached out and support the kit and the BeatSonic products. We have scheduled another session with the installer this coming Monday. I hope to review the Kit in earnest soon. (Posted on 1/19/2020)

Cost more than $1k installed, installer had to use different microphone for telephone calls, does not use the factory microphone, no volume on Android auto when listening to CDs or iPod.

Beat-Sonic response:
Normally labor fees will range from $50 an hour to $150 an hour and this kit should take about 2 hours for a professional to install.
In order to use the factory microphone, the phone will have to use Bluetooth for the calling source.
You will need to be in AUX mode to hear turn by turn directions. (Posted on 1/13/2020)

Ordered the Apple Carplay and Android Auto for Select 2013-2019 Lexus Models with NAV for a 2016 Lexus IS 300 over the Thanksgiving holiday and then waited patiently for the the unit to ship as it was not in stock. In the intervening time I lined up a very reputable installation shop here in Minneapolis, my home town. The Unit arrived around Christmas, but decided to wait to do the install due to holiday travel. I scheduled the install for afternoon of 1/10/20. During the testing of the unit it immediately began cycling between modes and would not stop. Reached out to BeatSonic to confirm we had the latest firmware, we did. The tech support could only offer to send over an update of the firmware by way of a solution. Now mid-day Saturday and running out of hours to complete. The install will like run more than the unit and we may have to rip it out and return it. Frustrated and not happy. It is the weekend and am unable to contact anyone at BeatSonic.

Response from Beat-Sonic USA: We are extremely sorry about your experience with our product. Although the newest firmware is loaded on all the devices before shipping out, there may still be a slight possibility that the firmware was not uploaded correctly from the manufacturer. We will avoid this issue in the future by reloading the newest firmware update on all devices ourselves before shipping them out. We were not contacted on Saturday although our tech's cellphone number was provided prior day for additional support. We also emailed the firmware files with instructions on Friday to resolve the issue. We responded to your email within 5 minutes of receiving your email on the weekend and also followed up with you with a phone call on Monday. (Posted on 1/11/2020)

I’ve just had it installed on a 2016 LX570 and 2016 ES300H. You lose none of the factory system or functionality, but just the added bonus of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto as well. Smooth operation using the car’s own controls The display with CarPlay IOS 12 on the LX 570 screen is nice and big, but that also means the icons are easy to see and use. (Posted on 9/15/2019)

  • A: You will have to purchase it from our website and either DIY the installation or have a local professional stereo shop do it for you. Installation labor fee will vary depending on the shop's hourly rate which can range from $100-$200/hour. This install may take several hours depending on the shop's experience and expertise.
  • Q: Can I listen to the car's radio or SAT radio while in Carplay / Android Auto mode?
  • A: You may listen to the car's native radio or SAT radio while in Carplay / Android Auto mode. However, you will not be able to hear Siri and turn by turn voice guidance. Instead, you may download the SAT radio application and/or radio application on your phone so that you may listen to the radio / SAT radio while in Carplay / Android Auto mode and hear Siri/turn by turn voice guidance.

  • A: Audio quality will be the same as factory as the audio is routed to the car's bluetooth. You may even use your factory USB port if you have an iPhone for audio while in Carplay mode.
  • Q:Can we use usb inside arm rest (2 usb ports) to connect to this device?
  • A: Unfortunately this kit is not compatible with a 2hub system USB. If you have the single USB system, you can reuse the factory USB plug using an optional harness.
  • Q: May I route the USB cable to the factory USB ports in the center console?
  • A: Yes, you may route the USB cable to where you desire. 
  • Q: Will I lose factory USB ports from functioning?
  • A: No, you will be able to keep factory USB ports and will continue to work with your factory infotainment system.
  • Q: Will the phone charge while in Carplay / Android Auto mode?
  • A: Yes, the phone will charge while being connected.
  • Q: Will this unit receive regular apple carplay updates like stock units?
