You have to turn it On everytime!

It does not sense the phone is present and start charging. You have to reach down and push the On button (or both On buttons for 2 phones) every time you start the vehicle. My previous cheap center console charger on 2nd gen Tundra was not this way. Other than that, it seems to work fine. Having to push the on button every time I get in the vehicle is not what I expect from today's electronics. When would you ever turn it off? ... am I missing something.
