If noise occurs, please check the connection of the power supply and ground.
Some applications such as video and games may result in battery drain exceeding the charge rate.
Video quality is highly dependent on the quality of the factory screen equipped in the car.
Factory equipped AUX 3.5mm input will be disabled once this kit is installed. Factory USB port will remain functional.
Depending on your phone's network plan, your provider may not allow HD streaming, which will further degrade the video quality. For example T-Mobile Magenta plan will only offer SD streaming compared to Magenta Max which provides up to 4k UHD streaming. For Verizon, if you have the "Start Unlimited" Plan at $70/month will only include 480p streaming. Please check with your network provider for more details.

Q1. How do I know if this kit is compatible to my car?

A2. Please find your vehicle under the compatibility list. If your vehicle is not in the list, it is not compatible.

Q2. Does it matter what sound system I have in the car?

A2. It does not matter what sound system you have in your car, as long as it is a factory equipped system.

Q3. Is IF-02BEP all I need to mirror my iPhone?

A3. You need to purchase these three iPhone related accessories separately and combine them with the IF-02BEP to complete the installation.

Q4. Is IF-02BEP all I need to mirror my Android phone?

A4. You need to purchase a HDMI wireless adapter such as an Actiontec ScreenBeam Mini2 separately and combine it with the IF-02BEP to complete the installation.

Q5. How do I connect the iPhone or the Android related accessories to the IF-02BEP?

Q6. Installing IF-02BEP in my car, will it void my factory warranty?

A6. The entire IF-02BEP components will be installed and left behind the radio that the Lexus has no reason to void your warranty. Unless, however, the car goes in to the dealership to get a stereo/navigation related service and the technicians spot the IF-02BEP, then they will not honor the warranty.

Q7. Can I connect my iPhone to theIF-02BEP wirlessly?

A7. It may be possible to do so by using an Apple TV, but you’ll need a mobile hot spot in your car to establish the wireless connection.

Q8. Can I connect my Android phone to the IF-02BEP with the MHL cable? Do I have to go wireless?

A8. Majority of Android phones released after the year 2015 are not MHL supported. This makes it impossible to send A/V data using the MHL cable. The A/V data must be sent via WiFi using a Smart View or the similar screen mirroring features available on your phone.

Q9. Can my iPhone be charged while it is mirrored?

A9. The power consumed while using the iPhone exceeds the charging power that it will slowly drain the battery. Dimming the screen brightness on the iPhone will greatly reduce the consumed power rate and it will not affect the brightness on the factory screen.

Q10. Does it only mirror the phone or I can mirror any device?

A10. It could mirror any device that runs with the latest iOS and Android-ran devices with Miracast and/or mirroring feature by adding an appropriate adapter.

Q11. Will my phone be mirrored automatically when I connect the phone?

A11. Mirrored image is displayed on the factory screen, only when the A/V mode is selected. If the A/V mode was selected before the ignition was killed, the screen will start from the A/V mode, and the mirrored image will automatically be displayed to the screen as the phone is plugged in to the IF-02BEP.

Q12. How good is the resolution?

A12. It is not technically possible to send HDMI signal straight to the factory screen in HD quality, as the factory screen is only able to read the RCA analog signal. HDMI is digital and able to send video signal without much signal loss, as such the resolution is kept very high. However, the RCA is analog and there’s significant amount of signal loss, as such the resolution is poorer compared to the HDMI. In addition to it, the display quality is highly dependent to the resolution offered on the factory screen, and the highest resolution offered in the Lexus lineup is 1280 x 480, which is not considered “high”.
