    Highly recommended itemReview by gordon
It works great on my 2012 Infiniti G37 with factory navigation and factory DVD player.
My wife can watch the DVD while I'm driving: less talking.
I can enter the destination while I'm driving: no more stopping.
Toggle switch is little bulky but it does the job.
Thanks Beat-Sonic for the great product.

    Works wellReview by REV
I have a 2012 Infiniti M56 and I've been looking for a simple way to bypass the VIM.
There are lot of talks and ideas on the forum but nothing was convincing. I didn't want to use my high end car as a guinea pig, so I was desperate in finding the true plug and play solution.
I was little worried even after I made a decision to buy this kit, because there just wasn't enough reviews and the information about this kit.
I took my car to the professional installer during the weekend and installed it in less than an hour.
Now I have full access to all lock-out features on the screen.
I'm a very satisfied customer and I will recommend this product to all my friends and families.

Yesterday I received my TVK-56 via USPS and Canada Post. No Customs surprises and no surprise addition fees. It took 6 business days from Cali to Ontario.

Follow the towel advice in Neil's review. Have a tiny slot screwdriver handy to help quickly pop off the harness connections of the DVD, Head Unit, Control Module and Video Screen. It took less than 30 minutes to snap the TVK-56 into place and test it out.
It works exactly as advertised. I stuck the switch (out of sight but easy to reach) on the lower left side of the plastic console beside the shifter.
When you flip the switch to TV for a couple of minutes, while driving on a long straight stretch of road, the GPS will have some difficulty re-tracking your exact location when you flip back to NP. It can take a few minutes. If you make a turn it will recalculate immediately.
Excellent product at nearly half the cost of similar products on the market. (Posted on 6/25/2013)
Super EasyReview by Neil 2011 G37S
It took about 30 Minutes to complete, due to been my first time taking the Navi apart. The only tools required are a philips head screw driver and patience. Make sure you wrap each component with a tshirt or towel in order to avoid scratches. Cars equiped with a manual transmission you can not take off the shift knob (you will break it if you do), just wrap the besel and knob with a tshirt or towel and work around it.

When pulling the main unit out (the heaviest and most dangerous part) you will need a nice thick towel or a a baby pillow will help avoid scratches to the console. Also make sure you use the plug in the main unit not the plug on the plastic unit on top of the main unit. Have fun and good luck. (Posted on 5/10/2011)

  • Q1: I'd like to use the factory AUX video/audio input while driving. Can your product override this?
  • A1: Thank you for your inquiry. No, TVK-56 will bypass the factory navigation and DVD player related lockouts only. It will not override the AUX video/audio input, and you can only use this feature while the vehicle is parked.

  • Q2: My airbag lamp is turned on after the installation and I don't know how to turn it off.
  • A2: Thank you for your inquiry. Disconnecting other than the matching connector to the TVK-43 causes the airbag lamp to turn on and it won't go away automatically until you reset it. Downloadable airbag lamp reset instruction is located under "Downloads".

  • Q3: Your website confirms that TVK-56 would work on my car, but it does not.
  • A3. As long as your vehicle is listed under the compatibility, TVK-56 will work on your vehicle. We recommend downloading the vehicle specific installation instruction (if available) located under "Downloads" and see where you can find the matching connector. Most users would attempt to connect the TVK-56 to the navigation, but it may not be the correct connector. The most common areas where the matching connectors are located are behind the head unit/radio (at the bottom), and behind the glove box.
